1964 Beardmore MkVII Taxi

Rare London taxi, manufactured by Beardmore, a high quality car builder using interesting materials – door panel are ash framed aluminium, wings and roof are glass fibre. Bought as a non-runner, we have got the Consul engine running, replaced the battery and fuel pump, cleaned the carb and fuel tank, freed off the clutch, made the brakes work, replaced some ash in the door frames, refurbished the door cards, removed the old sign writing – would be a great to advertise a business - and got much of the electrics working. Paintwork is pretty good throughout, interior is very tidy with good seats. There is still room for further improvement to the general running, some window seals and the electrics – wipers, heater fan, interior lights and fare meter not yet working. No history to speak of but comes with Beardmore Guide (a practical manual, spare parts guide and history) and an Instruction Book.
